- At the base of The American Monument will be a plaza area where visitors can walk completely around the statue. An observation tower will also be available where pictures can be taken of the monument. Buffalo fields, along with water features and garden areas, will surround the plaza.
- Entering at the base of The American, visitors will board an elevator and ascend to a two-level gallery and mezzanine that opens to a cathedral-like view of the intricate, inner-skeletal structure of the sculpture. This inner structure supports the more than 350,000 pounds of bronze-alloy veneer that sheaths The American.
- At the gallery level, visitors will be engaged by a real-time, closed circuit, panoramic view of the surrounding countryside via large, high-definition plasma screens giving the appearance of large picture windows.
- Periodically, through special effects, the viewer will be transported back in time to scenery when buffalo roamed the hills and Indians and settlers surveyed the area from the summit.
- From the mezzanine level, visitors can climb a stairway to the observation deck 17 stories high in the statue's forehead. An expansive vista awaits the onlooker with the hill rolling away to the south and flat farmland stretched out like a carpet before the buildings of downtown Tulsa in the distance.
As The American takes shape as a tangible image on the landscape, man will recognize it for its imposing and majestic place in history. The American will be an icon for the ages.Shan Gray Artist and Designer of The American
